"This is all your fault!!" Rhia said
"No its not - your the one with the big mouth!!"
"So how long are we grounded for"
"Life probably knowing Dad!!"
"That's not fair!!"
"Well next time maybe you might learn to keep your trap shut!!" 
Now that I am grounded I have had to find other things to do with my time.
Like gardening
and playing the musical instruments down in the basement
"Hello Mrs Swan is Rio in?"
"Yeah I'll go and get him for you"
"Do you want to hang out a group of us are going down the beach?"
"Sorry Wendy I can't I have been grounded, and I would ask you in but Dads in a mood with me at the moment so it probably would not be a good idea!!"
"Never mind another time then"
"Yeah I'll see you at school tomorrow."
Then my phone starts ringing
"Hey Rio you want to come and see a movie, I am free tonight"
"No sorry Meredith I am grounded, I can not go out"
"What about if I asked your Dad?"
"No - not a good idea"
Even though my Dad and Meredith were pretty good friends with her being our regular babysitter it was not a good idea seeing as she was one of the girls I had been grounded for kissing!!
"Mom - Can't you have a word with Dad for me - he is killing my social life!!"
"You know what your Dads like, and you havent even given him time to calm down"
"Yeah but he is being really mean grounding me"
"Its for your own good Rio"
"How do you work that out??"
"Look, he is only trying to teach you right from wrong, he is worried about your morals"
"He is just a prude!!"
"Come on Rio, if you keep this behaviour up you are going to get yourself a horrible reputation, besides the upset you are going to cause these girls, you know you can have girls as friends you know without kissing them all"
"But what about if I like kissing them and they are not complaining!!"
"Maybe not but do these girls know they are not the only one you are kissing"
"I don't know?"
"What about Raven and Maizie, they are sisters surely they talk to each other"
"Those two are always fighting"
"Fighting because of you?"
"Sometimes"
"Well then - can't you see what you are doing?"
"Yeah but its not like either of them are my girlfriend"
"That's not the point and what is going to happen when you do get a girlfriend"
"What do you mean?"
"Are you still going to be kissing all these girls when you have a girlfriend"
"I don't know do I?"
"Maybe your Dad needs to have another talk with you"
"NO!!!!! Please I couldn't take another one of his lectures!!"
"Mom can I bring someone home with me after school?"
"Have you asked your Dad?"
"No he's shot off early this morning"
"I suppose it won't hurt, he did say any socialising you did would be here"
Mr and Mrs Foster made me laugh. Every night when we came out of school they would be sitting on the bench together waiting for thier kids to come out of school. This actually embarrassed Raven and Maizie but I don't think it bothered Brad so much.
Maizie came home with me today after school.
I like Maizie, the problem is I also like Raven too. Maizie and Raven are twins and the only difference between them is their hair colour and a few traits. They look identical, but I think Raven just edges it because we have more traits in common than me and Maizie do.
" Mom why are you using my computer has Dad sent you into spy on me?"
"Don't be silly, mines broken"
"Your laptop?"
"Your Dads using it"
"convenient" I said sarcastically"Why would your Dad be spying on you" Maizie asked
"To make sure I am not kissing you"
"You what?
"You know its not like that Rio!!" Mom snapped
Dad surprised me by cooking, no not cooking, he made a salad for Maizie to eat.
"What are you doing eating that stuff Dad"
"It is actually quite nice - you should try it"
"No thanks!!"
"Haven't you ever tried salad?" Maizie asked"No we live on this stuff, we don't have to eat food"
"Its ok if Maizie stays over isnt it Dad"
"I suppose as long as she sleeps in the spare room"
It always makes me laugh when my friends got star struck over my parents.
"So why are you grounded?"
"Oh its nothing, I don't want to talk about it"
The next morning I came down to find Dad eating food again
"Now what are you eating Dad?"
"Pancakes - try some"
"What is with all the cooking and food eating?""I made pancakes for when Maizie gets up - humans need feeding"
"They look revolting"
"They are actually quite nice, I could quite easily get into this cooking lark!!"
"A bit wasted on a vampire isnt it"
"Yeah it is a little - so Maizie?""What about her?"
"Is she your girlfriend?"
"No - I prefer her sister I think"
This is when Dad starts choking on his food. Maybe I shouldn't have said that to him"Well if that's the case I don't want to see you two messing about"
"Ok - Ok"
"So what do you have planned for today?"
"Nothing I am grounded remember"
"Oh yeah - sorry I forgot"
"I know and its the weekend and I am going to go nutz being stuck in here"
"Ask him if you can go out"
"Already tried it - he won't budge!!"
"So Rhia have you and Brad fell out because he has been moping about for a few days"
"No I am grounded too"
I walked into the bathroom and Maizie was in there. She grabbed my hands and I knew where this was leading and I had to put a stop to it for two reasons. The first being my Dad could walk in anytime and catch us and after what I had told him earlier he would only get mad at me!!
"Can I talk to you about something Maizie"
"Yes, what is it?"
"We are good friends aren't we"
"Yes, your one of my best friends"
"That is what I wanted to talk to you about, see I like having you as a best friend and I wanted to know if we can always be best friends no matter what happens"
"Yes, I suppose so"
"So you will be my best friend forever even if I got myself a girlfriend?"
"A girlfriend like who??" she did not look too happy
When she started to get upset I hugged her.
"Like who Rio?"
"Raven"
"My sister???" she shouted at me"Yes, but I haven't asked her yet"
"Well that's just Great!!!" she said just before she stormed off.
I stood there for a moment not knowing whether to go after her or not but when I did go out after her she was gone, and that's when I caught Dad having another one of his conversations with Shantel. Why was it me who always caught him!!
"Shantey I am sorry, ok I didn't mean to upset you!!"
....
"I said I am sorry what more do you want?"
.....
"Look I have got to go, I will speak to you tomorrow"
He saw me walking into the kitchen, said goodbye and turned off his phone
"So are you ok son, I just saw Maizie run through here looking upset"
"No I am not ok - and you can just leave me alone!!" I snapped at him
I had never spoken to him like that before and I was pretty shocked when he did not shout at me or come after me - maybe that was a guilty conscience - I had caught him again talking to that women and he made it pretty obvious he was sneaking by cutting the phone off when he saw me coming. If he had nothing to hide he would not have done that would he!!
I went down into the basement and took my frustration out on the exercise equipment.
